The Board of Directors of Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) nominated Assoc. Prof. Manyu Moravenov to become a member of the Board and executive director of the institution. The change is to be voted at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for September, 17.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Moravenov will join the Board of Directors and take over the lead of BSE from Ivan Takev, who in his sole discretion moves to another position in the non-banking financial sector in Bulgaria.
Assoc. Prof. Manyu Moravenov possesses unquestioned authority and nearly 25 years of experience in the field of finance and investment, real estate and capital markets. During his remarkable career he holds a number of management positions in institutions and non-governmental organisations in the Bulgarian capital and investment market, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (now Financial Supervision Commission), working groups at the Ministry of Finance, Bulgarian Stock Exchange, the Special Investment Purpose Companies Association, the Bulgarian Association of Licensed Investment Intermediaries, the National Corporate Governance Committee and others. In the recent years, he has been actively involved in managing the credit portfolio and creditworthiness of companies, as well as managing the processes of various sources of financing such as corporate loans and bank financing, bond issuance, IPOs and equity financing.

Prof. Dr Moravenov.Assoc. Prof. Dr Moravenov is one of the authors of the National Corporate Governance Code and plays an active role in the creation of the legislation and infrastructure of the regulated capital markets in Bulgaria. He is an associate professor and a long-time lecturer at the Higher School of Insurance and Finance.Assoc. Prof. Dr Moravenov holds a PhD in finance, credit and insurance from the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and a master's degree in economics and informatics from the University of National and World Economy. He has numerous specialisations and is the author of two monographs, dozens of studies, articles and reports in prestigious Bulgarian and foreign scientific journals.
